Repeat after me: The religious right was NOT born of moral outrage at Roe v. Wade

I'd forgotten about this gem of an anecdote from Randall Balmer until Digby quoted from it in a post about Obama's discussion of limits on late-term abortion w/ Relevant magazine.

In case you don't feel like reading the Balmer excerpt, here's the gist: It wasn't abortion. It was segregation.
