As far as I can tell, Fr. Bourgeois would have been ex-communicated several decades ago but for the same bureaucracy that brought US Catholics several decades of inaction in a real scandal like in Boston. (Or the same mindset that says -- if we ignore the problem then it will all go away). That having been said, the quicker the SOA is closed down, the better... But how is this fellow still a Catholic priest anyway after all the nose-thumbing re: women's ordination? I bet he just hates all the publicity. ;)
