Better late than never: infamously outlandish rock-star claims edition

The Vatican has forgiven John Lennon.

(And RNS has committed the cardinal sin of Beatles-related headline writing: punning on a song title written by the wrong Beatle. Particularly ironic in this case, given that even a moderate-to-serious [i.e., not a crazed, dogmatic, Kinks-and-Dylan-and-Velvets-and-everyone-else-dismissing] Beatles fan like myself knows that Lennon hated this song...because he understood it to be pro-religion in general and pro-Catholic in particular. ["Mother Mary comes to me..."] Oh well.)
