Bush to veto farm bill

So says the secretary of agriculture.

Sustainable food people: Is this good or bad? It's a pretty shitty bill, but it's the only one we have...should we cut our losses and wait five years, or will U.S. ag policy have already destroyed the world by then?

  1. this is the current debate in farm bill reform circles. some (generally, the more conservative tax-cutters) have lauded the veto; others believe good reforms have been made.

personally, i don't think it's a perfect bill, but it's much better than it was, and it seems pretty lame that congress has appeased the administration in lots of ways, only to still veto it. it seems like an override is fairly possible, if a big challenge.
