Some light reading
This is cool: Michael Westmoreland-White has a handy short bibliography on the subject of Christianity vs. empire. I've only read a few of these so far (mostly biblical studies stuff), but going deeper into the literature on this subject is high on my list.

ReplyDeleteEver watched the documentary, "Constantine's Sword"? Netflix thinks I'd enjoy it and keeps telling me so. Haven't had the time to check it out yet...
ReplyDeleteNo, haven't seen it, though I keep carrying the (huge) book with me each time I move, intending to read it at some point.
ReplyDeleteThat bibliography is a great list! I don't know which one to start with.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting book about politics and Christianity is "The Anonymous God: The Church Confronts Civil Religion And American Society" from Concordia Publishing.
