Sane words on Coverillustrationgate

Jeffrey Weiss says something that should be obvious but apparently isn't: All satire is offensive or transgressive in some way. That's part of what makes it satire.

    I guess my question is usually more the intent of the satire, and I fail to see what can be accomplished positively by this particular case. Although I guess the counter would be that there doesn't need to be a "goal" for satire (but it helps).

    It also helps if satire is funny.
