Encouraging news on the faith-and-evolution front from James McGrath, recently one of my favorite bloggers: Campus Crusade at Butler, where he teaches, has decided to uninvite the faux-credentialed creationist Willie Dye to campus, noting that they'd still like to host conversations on the subject but would prefer to do so with academically serious, qualified participants. Good for them.
And, via James, here's an informative video about the Alien Intervention Institute. You say that sounds like a controversial organization? I say Teach the Controversy!

Steve,
ReplyDeleteThis video is a good example of a technique used by groups whose goal is to preempt or eliminate actual debate.
Using this technique, one side(usually the weaker) will intentionally ignore and misrepresent the arguments and facts already presented by the other side while simultaneously attempting to discredit them based on erroneous information.
For additional examples, see:
Michael Moore, Al Gore, and most everything written about Sarah Palin. ha ha ha.
The intellectually lazy accepts the misrepresentations based on their preconceived notions and make no attempt to verify the accuracy of the information.
For anyone interested in actually investigating credible evidence supporting Creation, a good start would be to check out how a global flood would affect the archeological record and carbon dating.
Good post thanks for sharing!
